Frog Spawn in the Office Pond

We have frog spawn in the Everything Dinosaur office pond!  Early this morning two batches of frog spawn were laid.  We are expecting more as at least five frogs have been spotted in the pond this afternoon.  The frogs are all Common Frogs (Rana temporaria), the name is a bit of a misnomer as frog numbers, like most species of amphibians have declined substantially in recent years.  It’s great news for us, to have frog spawn in the pond once again.

We have been fortunate to have had frog spawn in our small pond for many years now, hopefully, we shall be able to see some small frogs emerging later in the summer, helping to sustain the local frog population and doing our bit for conservation.
